Drills developed by Coach Kans, Lead Skills Coach · Meet the coaches
A great jumper is a repeatable one — same balance, same release, same follow-through every rep. That comes from form-first work, not chucking threes. Below are 79 free shooting drills with video, grouped by goal and level: groove your form up close, add catch-and-shoot and footwork, extend your range, then finish with game-speed workouts. New to it? Start with form shooting and add one block a week.
Groove the motion up close before you add distance: balance, a clean set point, and a soft, consistent follow-through.
Train a quick, repeatable release off the catch — feet ready, hands ready, no wasted motion.
Rise into a balanced pull-up out of the dribble — on balance, same release, every time.
Push your range out without breaking your form — drive your legs into the shot, keep the same release.
Put it together at game pace — move, catch, and shoot from spots all over the floor.
Not sure why your shots fall short or drift left? Record your jumper in the Level Up Basketball app and the AI coach breaks down your release, balance, and follow-through, then builds a shooting workout around what to fix.
