Basketball Catch, Balance and Release Workout — shooting preparation: controlled form, pickup and catch, balance and inside/outside pivot entries. drills

The workout: This partner-assisted routine targets the physical mechanics of receiving a pass and entering your shooting stance. You will practice controlled catches, quick pickups, single-leg balance, and both inside and outside pivot entries.

This basketball shot preparation workout structure uses four distinct five-minute blocks to practice physical alignment and balance before releasing your shot. Your partner will deliver passes to simulate game-like catch situations. This is an adaptable 20-minute plan: you will run through four blocks exactly once. Each block features two drills. For each drill, execute two 60-second practice sets, resting or transitioning for exactly 15 seconds after every set, including the final set of the block. This 75-second interval repeated four times creates a five-minute block. Set up all equipment before starting the timer to maintain this pace without adding extra rest.
