By Coach Kans, Lead Skills Coach · Published November 2026
Level IntermediateTime 20 minGear Two basketballs, a suitable wall, two low cones or safe floor markers, and clear practice spaceFocus Controlled ball handling, quick foot movement and wall-passing coordination
The workout: This session alternates between floor coordination drills and rapid wall-pass repetitions. Players move through four paired blocks designed to challenge handling control, foot speed, and passing release times.
This basketball ball handling and wall passing workout links ball control and passing coordination. The routine consists of four structured blocks, each pairing a handling or footwork drill with a wall-passing sequence. The timed doses total 16 minutes and 30 seconds of active training. Treat the four five-minute block durations as adaptable estimates, allowing approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds of total rest and transition time between sets. Rest as needed to maintain high-intensity mechanics without treating these timing estimates as rigid physiological rules.

How to progress
Use completion of every listed dose while following the observable drill cues as a self-check. If a player cannot complete the listed dose with those cues, repeat the same dose before adding speed, repetitions, or resistance. This is a practice recommendation, not a guarantee of readiness or results.
